Liberation of Busra Al-Sham
April 13, 2015
A review of the current events in Deraa province.
The border between Deraa province and the Suwayda province in the city of Busra al-Sham has historical significance dating back to the Roman and Byzantine period and the Islamic Prophet Muhammad’s early life. With the rise of the conflict in Syria, Busra al-Sham has been divided between SARG and armed opposition control. On March 26th, 2015, a joint operation between the Muthanna Islamic Movement, the Free Syria Army (FSA), and the Islamic Front overtook and liberated what was left of the city. SARG forces withdrew further into the province of Suwayda.
